You're the Best Player Our Team's Got!

I've often used this phrase when playing a game against my brothers or sister or my mom or dad. It comes from the fact that they are so horrible, they are actually helping my team by playing against me. Well, I can also say the same to the Anglican Church.

Over the weekend, the General Synod of the Church of England denied and rejected a possible compromise in regards to women’s ordination. The compromise, created by "Archbishop" Rowan Williams and John Sentamu, was an attempt at maintaining the unity of the Church of England. You can read about it here.

The amendment would have allowed for male bishops only for those who reject female ordination and female bishops for the rest. The hope was that two-tiered episcopacy would maintain some semblance of unity.

It obviously didn't pass, and it appears that, much to Rowan's chagrin, the liberals in the Church of England are pushing for a unity founded because everyone else is pushed out. In fact, it seems the liberals want to have their way more than unity.

Well, those liberals are the best players our team's got! Because of Anglicanorum Coetibus, we'll proudly take those Anglicans who want to have their cake and eat it too (have the Truth and keep their Anglican traditions). I get a laugh sometimes, because while liberals accuse orthodox people of being narrow minded, they themselves appear to be narrow minded. After all, their right and everyone else is wrong.

Anyway, traditional Anglicans now have nothing stopping them from coming home to Rome. It's now very obvious that Rowan Williams has lost total control of the Anglican Church in favor of the liberals; and it's also now very obvious that liberals don't care about unity as long as they're voice is louder. Please come on home, Anglicans. You guys even get to keep your traditions! What's stopping you?

If you want to read the Apostolic Constitution yourself (it's not even 4 pages long), you can read it here.
