New CDF Website!

The Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith (Doctrina Fidei) has a new website, which seems easily accessible. The address is http://www.doctrinafidei.va/

This makes the job of people like me (those that enjoy systematic theology) a lot easier. What's really great is that a lot of these documents are already in English (although who really needs that now, since we have Google Chrome which translates for us!)

I encourage you to check it out. Maybe you'll find a document that interests you!

Some of the document categories that are now easily available include:

  • Doctrinal Documents
    • Examples: Clarification on procured abortion; Doctrinal Note on some Aspects of Evangelization; Instruction on prayers for healing
  • Disciplinary Documents
    • Examples: Decree of Erection of the Personal Ordinariate of the Chair of St. Peter; General Decree regarding the delict of attempted sacred ordination of a woman;
  • Documents on Sacramental Questions
    • Examples: Responses to Questions Proposed on the Validity of Baptism; Letter to Bishops of the Catholic Church on Certain Questions Concerning the Minister of the Eucharist
  • Speeches and Communications by Past & Present Prefect of the CDF
    • Right now, they only have Cardinal Levada's and then-Cardinal Ratzinger's speeches.
